Mr. Iqbal Haider

Mr. Iqbal Hyder has been working in the development sector since 1987. Currently, he is heading the Laar Humanitarian Development Program (LHDP) as Executive Director based in Badin Sindh. He started his development career by joining the Young Sheedi Welfare Organization (YSWO) while rendering services in the 1994 flood response project supported firstly by SPO and later on by Oxfam GB. During the Cyclone A-2 project in 1999, he played a key role in both the districts of Badin and Thatta for the rehabilitation of affected communities. He has worked on a number of projects focusing on sustainable livelihoods, food security, disaster preparedness, and climate change adaptation supported by Oxfam GB and Oxfam Novib Pakistan and provided his technical input. He worked in close coordination with the UN system in the AJK earthquake in 2005 for Oxfam GB. He provided technical support to WASH projects supported by Oxfam GB and also led the team of WASH during the flood-2007 in North Sindh (District Kambar-Shahdad kot), with the support of Oxfam GB. In the flood-2010, he worked in close coordination with UNOCHA, UN Clusters, NDMA, PDMA, and DDMAs, and the international Humanitarian Community. He proactively played the same role during the sky-flood-2011 in south Sindh. Mr. Iqbal Hyder is also the Director of the Indus Consortium BOD currently and provides his technical input for the betterment of marginalized and vulnerable communities in the country. He holds a Master’s degree in sociology from Sindh University Jamshoro. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Indus Consortium.
Mr. Liaqat Ali

Mr. Liaqat Ali is the Executive Director of Doaba Foundation, a community-led organization working with riverine communities in the south Punjab province in Pakistan. He has served as an executive committee member of the National Humanitarian Network (NHN), a leading community-based network of CSOs working in the field of humanitarianism. He is also a member of the steering committee of READY Pakistan, which is the funding platform of Humanitarian NGOs in Pakistan, and represents the Indus Consortium. He holds a Master’s degree in Pakistan Studies.
